Carters Green Farm in Weston, Crewe, has been decorated with thousands of twinkling lights and decorations for the sixth year, by Graham Witter and his family.
The lights are in in memory of Graham’s sister, Jessica, who had a great fascination for colour, light and sound and received respite care at The Donna Louise Hospice.
This event means so much to Graham and his family and, over the last five years, he has raised an incredible £65,550 for the families, like his, who rely on The Donna Louise.
The display opened on Saturday 1st December, with this year’s light spectacular being bigger and better than ever before, as visitors will be able to meet Santa, enjoy the festive music,
and indulge in festive ice cream and treats.
Graham said: “It takes a lot of planning to make sure everything is in place and I love adding more lights to the display each year and coming up with new creative ideas.
“In 2013, we raised just £1,000 and every year it has grown and grown. Last year we raised just over £25,500.
“I would like to hope we will be able to raise close, if not more, than what we raised last December but even to raise any amount of money for charity and for the Donna Louise which is such a great cause is just remarkable.”
Simon Fuller, Chief Executive of The Donna Louise, added, “Graham’s support for The Donna Louise over the last five years has been truly incredible.
“He’s raised a staggering £65,550 which has made a massive difference to the lives of hundreds of families across Staffordshire and Cheshire, supporting them in their home, at the hospice and in hospital.
I hope that the local community will support Graham, and The Donna Louise, by visiting his magical Christmas wonderland this year.”
Santa will be there every Friday, Saturday, Sunday evening and each night the last week before Christmas.
The Weston Christmas Light Display will shine bright every evening until 28th December, from 6.15pm – 9pm, at Carters Green Farm, Jack Lane, Weston, CW2 5LE.
