A seven-month-old puppy has been returned to his owners after he was stolen from their home in Codsall on 6 November.
Alastor the pug was found in the early hours of this morning (7 November).
He had been castrated the day before, and was in need of medication and close supervision due to stitches.
Officers involved in an intelligence-led operation stopped and searched a suspect van in Featherstone, Wolverhampton and discovered the dog.
A knife was also recovered during the search.
A 41-year-old man from Middlewich, Cheshire was arrested on suspicion of theft and possession of an offensive weapon. He remains in police custody and enquiries are on-going.
Alastor was immediately returned home to relieved owners.
Michelle James, Alastor’s owner said; “The response to our appeal since Alastor was stolen has been amazing with nearly 20,000 shares on social media so thanks to all those involved.
“Alastor’s had a traumatic couple of days as he is also recovering from an operation that he had the day before he was taken. But he’s safely back home now and we’re delighted to have him returned to us.”
