What’s on this Halloween half term in Staffordshire


With the October half term just around the corner, it’s time to start looking for ways to keep the kids occupied.

Staffslive has compiled a list of fun things for all of the family to enjoy in Staffordshire while the young ones are off school.

20th October – 4th November

Halloween Half Term Fun at the Emma Bridgewater Factory, ST1 3EJ

Whether you want to meet owls, make something creepy out of clay or join in with the pumpkin hunt, the Emma Bridgewater Factory has you covered! Seasonal treats will also be available in the café.

26th – 28th October

Bonfire & fireworks at Biddulph Grange Garden, ST8 7SD

Take in the stunning scenery as you walk around the candle lit garden and enjoy food fresh from the BBQ. You can even enter the free costume competition if you’re feeling spooky! The night will conclude with a bonfire and firework display.

27th October

Firework Night at Stoke Ski Centre, ST1 5PU

This family event is definitely not to be missed. With fairground rides, face painting and an award-winning firework display, this night will not disappoint. Doors open at 5pm and entry is £6 per person.

27th October

Spooky Saturday in Newcastle-under-Lyme Town Centre, ST5 1SW

This free event is guaranteed to get you in the mood for Halloween with activities including a pumpkin trail, zombie drumming and craft workshops.

27th & 28th October

Scary Trains at Apedale Valley Light Railway, ST5 7LB

Travel back in time with a ride on a historic locomotive. Scary Steam Trains will be running between 4pm and 7pm with regular trains running throughout the rest of the day.

27th – 31st October

Half Term Spooktacular at Trentham Monkey Forest, ST12 9HR

Expect the usual monkeying around along with some Halloween fun. Activities include face painting and games in the Deadly Dungeon. Usual entry fees apply with an extra charge for Halloween activities.

29th October – 1st November

Hocus Pocus Adventure Challenge at The Trentham Estate, ST4 8JG

Learn how to cast spells and ride a broomstick under the watchful eye of Magic Merlin. This event is suitable for children aged 3-8 years old.

31st October

Free-ky Halloween fun at intu Potteries, ST1 1PS

Enjoy some retail therapy and a spot of lunch followed by games and plenty of free treats. You can even dress up if you want to!

2nd November

Fireworks at Trentham Gardens, ST4 8JG

This spectacular bonfire and fireworks display set in the Italian gardens is sure to impress. Entertainment on the night will include fairground rides, circus acts and even a display from fire performers. Tickets are £12 and should be booked in advance.
