M6 near Stafford reopens after woman allegedly jumped from bridge


The M6 motorway in Staffordshire has re-opened after a woman allegedly jumped from a bridge causing it to close near junction 14 this morning (Friday 19 October).

The incident happened between junction 14 and junction 13 where an air ambulance attended the scene.

Thousands of drivers were delayed due to the closure southbound.

A Staffordshire Police spokesperson, said: “The M6 has now reopened following an incident this morning. We were called to a report of a woman who appeared to jump off Doxey Road bridge near junction 14 at 8.30am.”

The woman received minor injuries and has been taken to hospital for treatment.
