The Unibet Premier League of Darts continues tomorrow night at the Manchester Arena where Michael van Gerwen will play twice – against Daryl Gurney and Michael Smith.
This is the first time in the tournament’s history without a participant from Stoke-On-Trent with Phil ‘The Power’ Taylor’s retirement and Adrian Lewis slipping out of the top 10.
The top players in the world are confident that two-time world champion Adrian ‘Jackpot’ Lewis will be back in the Premier League next year.
World number 5 Daryl Gurney put Lewis’ absence down to I’ll health. “The only reason he missed this year is because of health issues really. He is such a natural gifted dart player. Last year was just a blip. We’ll see him back very soon.”
Rob Cross, the current world champion, was also confident we will see ‘Jackpot’ back. “He’s already showed a bit of form in the last couple of weeks. He’s been playing great so I wish him all the best.”
After some solid performances in the players championships, let’s hope Adrian Lewis makes a return to the Premier League next year.
