Step into Spring: savvy shopping for your summer holidays

A new season is upon us and stores and online retailers are signalling the change by covering their rails with skirts, crop tops and sandals. However for most of us, the chilly weather is still calling for chunky knits.

Nevertheless, the time has come to take note of the forthcoming trends and to start putting together your wardrobe for any upcoming summer holidays.

Instead of investing in high-summer items that will be sent to the back of your closet for weeks, consider key items that will take you through every season.

The 2018 spring/summer trends are a mix of florals, bright colours and fun and fresh ideas.

A great way to bring a little sunshine to the colder days is by incorporating bright colours into your wardrobe and by layering delicate shades with chunky knits.

Summer trends may seem a world away, but it won’t be long before everyone is jetting off on their summer holidays, so its best to get ahead of the trends now.

We all know that holiday clothes need to cover all of the bases, from the bright staple tops, to go-to denim shorts that are perfect for those midday strolls.

Head over to Accessorize for a vast selection of beach cover-ups, floaty maxi-dresses for those warm evenings and fringed sandals that’ll see you through from day-to-night. Plus, many items that’ll be great for your post holiday wardrobe too.

This spring, intu Potteries in Hanley are stepping into spring by adding some flower power to the centre.

Five mannequins will be displayed for six weeks in the shopping centre, showcasing this season’s fashion trends through the medium of flowers.

Working with local florist, Natalie’s Florist, 5 unique flower mannequins have been created, each representing a different key trend for spring/summer.

Natalie’s Florist have decorated the mannequins with a range of artificial flowers using hundreds of flower petals.

Florist Natalie, said: “We were thrilled to be asked by intu Potteries to take part in their SS18 campaign.

“It has been enjoyable to take part in something unique and let our creative juices flow.”

Until Sunday May 6, the Potteries are offering a bloomin’ lovely competition where shoppers can guess how many flowers were used to dress one of the mannequins.

One lucky winner will win a £50 intu Gift Card that can be spent in over 70 shops and restaurants, which could easily be spent on those holiday essentials!

Marketing Manager, Sandrine Rutter, said: “Fashion is fun. We want shoppers to take inspiration from our five flower mannequins and tailor to their own style.

“intu Potteries has a diverse range of brands to suit females, males and children.

“The flower mannequins will be in the centre for six weeks, which we hope will bring something unique to the shopper’s experience when visiting the centre.”
