Elf

Love Actually

A 2003 Christmas themed romantic comedy, Love actually has to make the list! A movie that follows a range of different people and explores the different elements of love. Starring some big names such as Alan Rickman, Rowan Atkinson, Hugh Grant and Kiera Knightly.

Home Alone

Home Alone just takes you back doesn’t it? The 1990 comedy follows when young Kevin McCallister’s family leave him at home alone whilst on vacation by accident. The 8-year old uses his mischievous and clever mind to fight off robbers.

The Polar Express 

The Polar Express (2004) is an animated film starring Tom Hanks. The story follows a young boy who goes on an adventure to the magical North Pole, boarding the polar express to take him on his journey.

Jingle All The Way

Arnold Schwarzenegger stars in this 1996 American comedy as a stressed father who promises to get his son the new Turbo Man action figure for Christmas… until all stores are sold out! A hilarious, family favourite that makes everyone feel Christmassy!

The Nightmare Before Christmas

Tim Burton’s 1993 animated film which blends Christmas and Halloween is a big hit during the holiday season. The dark-fantasy film tells the story of Jack Skellington, a resident of spooky Halloween Town.

Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas

The 2000 American Christmas film is adapted from the original Children’s book published in 1957 by Dr.Seuss. The grumpy grinch is all about anti-Christmas and plans on ruining Christmas for everyone. A true classic to sit and enjoy with family and friends.

The Santa Claus

The Santa Claus is a 1994 family comedy film. A man accidentally kills Santa on Christmas Eve and finds himself in the big man’s suit to take over the job as Santa Claus!

The Holiday

A charming, funny and heart warming film. The Holiday was released in 2006 and is a festive romantic comedy. It features Kate Winslet, Cameron Diaz, Jack Black and the gorgeous Jude Law. It follows the story of two women who have guy problems and manage to find romance whilst swapping homes and countries for a break.

Arthur Christmas

An animated 2011 film which shows Santa’s clumsy son, Arthur go on a mission to give out a misplaced present to a young girl in under 2 hours.

Time to bust out the popcorn and mince pies for a fun night in with family and friends to get through this epic list of films! Christmas season would of course not be the same without these classics.
