Xbox VS PlayStation: The battle of the consoles continues

So Xbox has just released the Xbox One X and are saying that “It’s the world’s most powerful console. With 40% more power than other consoles, experience immersive true 4K gaming. Games play better on Xbox One X.”

This is in retaliation to PlayStation releasing the PlayStation 4 Pro which they say “As a gaming platform, PlayStation 4 is the best around – which makes the PS4 Pro the best of the best.”

These two consoles have just been released in time for Christmas making them the most sought out presents of the year. This time of year is especially rewarding for the two companies as figures show that the PlayStation 4 sales have risen to 60.4 million as the console wars with Xbox heat up in the lead up to Christmas.

This competition between the two is because they are the two biggest gaming companies around and rightfully so. Xbox has been around since 2001 where as its older rival has been around since 1994 and the sales between them has been neck and neck since then.

In terms of the consoles that have just been released, they are both very similar. They both are 4k gaming compatible which is the latest technology craze and is taking the gaming world by storm because of the high-quality gaming it offers. Both consoles also already have some of the biggest game titles that are now compatible with the updates that come with these new and improved consoles.

As the consoles are so similar it begs the question what’s makes people buy one or the other. I went out to interview people on their gaming preferences and why they decide to buy one over the other.
