Stoke-on-Trent man arrested after stop and search on M6

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of theft and drug offences following a vehicle stop.

The incident on November 1 was part of an on-going county-wide police operation.

An 18-year-old man from Stoke-on-Trent and a 28-year-old man from Rugby were arrested on suspicion of theft of a vehicle and possession of controlled drugs with intent to supply.

Officers monitored a suspicious yellow Ford Focus and a stinger was used at junction 15 of the M6 at around 6pm.

Cocaine valued at around £1,500, £700 cash and a number of phones were seized during the stop and search.

The two men remain in police custody.

Det Sgt Jon Bradbury, of Staffordshire Police, said: “These arrests are indicative of the good work being carried out by Staffordshire Police alongside CMPG in relation to drug offences.

“We are committed to tackling drug crime in the county and will continue to take positive action against those who engage in such activity.”
