Local business attend sixth annual Staffordshire Business Festival


Staffordshire Chamber of Commerce held the sixth annual Staffordshire Business Festival this week.

The festival spanned over three days and three locations, JCB Headquarters, Uttoexter Racecourse and Keele Hall.

StaffsLive attended on the third day, at Keele Hall, and saw talks from Facebook, Michelin and Stone Computers Group.

Sara Williams, chief executive of Staffordshire Chamber of Commerce, said: “So many of the business owners I know say how they started out at Michelin.”

Jonathon Wright, speaker from Michelin, spoke about how Stoke-on-Trent is now the only distribution centre for the UK and Ireland.

A representative from Facebook, Ben O’Sullivan, answered questions about how Facebook can help businesses with targeted advertising.

Martin Rushton, Stone Computers Group, spoke about how the local computer business is holding its own against other computer giants through keeping local connections to its customers.

The first day of the festival saw three key speakers from business, sport and culture giving advice about branding, performance and team building.

The second day had over 20 free workshops for businesses.
