A Stoke-on-Trent man who died when his truck crashed into broken down lorry on the A500 has been named.
Roman Parsons, 30, from Blurton, was driving northbound near the Wolstanton roundabout on Friday when the accident happened.
Emergency services were called to the scene at 5.10am and closed the stretch of road for 12 hours.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “On arrival, crews discovered a man who was still in his cab following the collision.
“Despite their best efforts it, unfortunately, became apparent that nothing could be done to save him and he was confirmed dead at the scene.”
In a statement, Staffordshire Police said: “The family are receiving the appropriate care and support from specially trained officers and have asked for their privacy to be respected whilst they come to terms with their loss.”
Police are asking anybody who witnessed the collision to contact them on 101 quoting incident 59 of 24 November.
