Nantwich Town have signed Will Jaaskelainen on a month’s loan from Crewe Alexandra for their Emirates FA Cup clash.
The Dabbers signed the 19-year-old former Bolton Wanderers goalkeeper on Tuesday with both first team goalkeepers unavailable due to injury.
Jaaskelainen is the son of former Bolton Wanderers goalkeeper, Jussi Jaaskelainen, who made over 500 appearances in 15 years for the club.
The highly-rated stopper was on-loan at Loughborough Dynamo in September, under the guidance of former Kidsgrove Athletic and Leek Town manager, Peter Ward.
The Dabbers face Kettering Town in Emirates FA Cup Fourth Qualifying Round tie at the Weaver Stadium after beating Nuneaton Town 3-0, thanks to goals from David Forbes, Theo Stair and Sean Cooke.
The game will be a break from the league with Nantwich losing the past five games. Their last league win came against Rushall Olympic in September.
A statement from the Dabbers said: “With current keepers Fabian Spiess and Kristian Burzynski set to miss the cup tie through injuries, Dave Cooke has been quick in capturing the Crewe keeper ahead of Saturday.
‘’The highly-rated stopper joins from the Alex for a month’s loan and will go straight into the squad for Saturday’s FA Cup Fourth Qualifying Round tie against Kettering Town.”
