Five arrested on suspicion of drug offences in Staffordshire


Four men and one woman have been arrested on suspicion of drug offences in Staffordshire in an operation which took place yesterday morning (10th October).

Two Birmingham men, aged 18 and 20, and a 49-year-old woman from Stoke were arrested on suspicion of intent to supply cocaine and heroin following a search at a property in Tirley Street, Fenton.

The 18-year-old is also wanted by West Midlands Police in connection with other offences.

In a separate incident two men, aged 20 and 21, from Liverpool were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs.

The two men were stopped in a Black VW Golf on the southbound carriage of the M6 near Sandbach.

All five remain in custody as the investigation continues.

Chief Inspector Karen Stevenson, of Stoke-on-Trent South Local Policing Team said: “We’re dedicated to taking a proactive stance on tackling organised criminal activity and the supply of illegal drugs within our community.

“We will act decisively to take drugs and weapons off the street to keep our communities safe from harm and protect the vulnerable.”
