20 foods you didn’t know were vegan

So we all know that everyone thinks anyone who is vegan lives off uncooked vegetables and what must be dirt, because everything else must have some kind of animal byproduct in it, right? Wrong heres a list of 20 foods that vegans can and do eat that even surprised us.

1. Pot Noodle – Beef & Tomato, Bombay Bad Boy, Sweet & Sour, Brazilian BBQ Steak, Chilli Beef, Chinese Chow Mein, Piri Piri Chicken, Sticky Rib.

There sure are a lot of meat flavours for them being vegan friendly, obviously pot noodle believes everyone deserves to be able to experience a bit of Bombay Bad Boy in their life.

2. Sainsbury’s Raspberry Jelly

But isn’t all jelly made of cow bones? Apparently not, now even vegans can enjoy the wonders of jelly.

3. Lotus Smooth Caramelised Biscuit Spread

Ever had the biscuits? They are vegan as well, but the spread is on another level, think Nutella but better.

4. Ritz Crackers

These tasty addictive crackers would make anyone happy, I’m sure all the vegans are internally fist pumping right now.

Now for some reason this one really shocked us, Chili Heatwave is an amazing flavour, thank you Doritos, once again being the best.

7. Tesco Bacon Rashers Snacks, Sainsbury’s Bacon Crispies and many other own-brand bacon snacks

Not exactly sure how this works or if any vegans would actually want to eat something this flavour, isn’t it almost counter-intuitive? Either way they are totally vegan.

8. Pringles – Original, BBQ, Paprika, Smokey Bacon

Again with the meaty flavours, oh Pringles you do love to tease those vegans.

11. Cadbury Bournville Plain Chocolate

16. Haribo – Sour Rainbow Strips, Sour Rainbow Twists

They aren’t the super mix but I guess when you are vegan you cant be picky.

18. Starburst

Who said vegans can’t have a sweet tooth.

19. Jus-Rol Bake-It-Fresh Pain au chocolate

For all those wannabe french vegans out there. Doesn’t it have chocolate? Apparently still vegan though.

20. Bird’s Traditional Custard Powder

But lets be honest is custard powder as good as the real stuff? I guess thats one of the compromises of being a vegan.

So as you can see vegans aren’t some weird breed of human who live of nothing but strange expensive food you are only allowed to buy if you have a vegan membership card, although they don’t eat cheese so I don’t think I will be converting just yet.
