Staffordshire Wildcats meet England Lionesses ahead of Euro 2017

Potential England stars of the future met the stars of the present when young members of Staffordshire Wildcats went along to St George’s Park, near Burton-on-Trent.

The Wildcats were invited to watch England Women go through their paces in a training session ahead of the Euro 2017 Championships in the Netherlands later this month.

Staffs Live sent along Helen Ward, a Professional Sports Writing and Broadcasting student who also plays for Reading FC Women and Wales, to find out more.

Watch her report here.

There are seven Wildcats clubs in Staffordshire, offering football coaching for girls aged 5-11, and one is based at Staffordshire University.

Sessions take place every Friday evening from 6pm – 7pm at The Stanley Matthews Sports Centre, Staffordshire University, throughout the summer.
