Two arrests following Staffordshire Police drugs raids


Two people have been arrested by Staffordshire Police following drugs raids today (Tuesday, March 14).

One address in Uttoxeter and another in Stapenhill in Burton-upon-Trent were raided by officers.

The first raid took place at Chaffinch Drive, Uttoxeter, around 8am and resulted in two arrests.

A man, 40, and a woman, 38, were arrested on suspicion of possession of drugs including a quantity of class A drugs.

The second raid took place at Blackthorn Road in Stapenhill, Burton around 11am.

No arrests were made and nothing was found.

The raids are part of a 50-day campaign,called 50-50, Staffordshire Police to arrest suspects.

Chief Inspector Rob Neeson, commander of the East Staffordshire Local Policing Team, said: “A swift and professional response from our officers has seen two arrests and and two more known drug locations shut down.

“50-50 continues apace and hopefully criminals will start to wonder who is next as we’re covering the whole of Staffordshire and a wide variety of criminal activities.”
