Stoke City defender Bruno Martins-Indi has insisted that he wants to continue his career at the club after his loan spell finishes at the end of the season.
The defender joined the Premier League side on a season long loan deal from Portuguese giants FC Porto at the end of August last year.
Martins-Indi didn’t have long to wait for his debut as he featured in the club’s 4-0 loss against Tottenham Hotspur at the start of September.
Since his debut, the defender has played in every single one of the 25 games he has been available for this season and has even managed to score one goal in that time.
Martins-Indi told StaffsLive: “I have spoken a lot with the coach, as I have good communication with the coach and we are talking with the club.
“We will see what is going to happen now and I have made my decision, I want to stay.
“I was following Stoke City before I was here and I knew the way the manager wants to play.
“He gave me a lot of confidence to come here and he trusted me. (I’m) happy that I could give him that back.”
The 25-year old has had a full week’s worth of training this week ahead of the weekend clash with top of the table Chelsea.
Stoke have managed to keep three clean sheets in the last four games, with one of those results being a 0-0 draw against top four side Manchester City.
The Potters are ninth in the Premier League ahead of the weekend fixture but are yet to beat a top ten side this season, and that run may well continue.
