He has a broad build, brown eyes and a scar near to his right eyebrow.

He was wearing a grey/green jumper and khaki/grey combat trousers.

Detective Inspector John Quilty said: “It has now been a week since Carl was last seen so we are obviously extremely worried about him.

Mr Wood is white, 5ft 10, with short grey hair and stubble.

“Our officers are continuing to search for him with help from specialist search teams.

“Although our focus has been in the Cannock Chase area, Carl is known to travel around the country so it is possible he could be anywhere.”

Police urge anyone who believes they may have seen Carl, or anyone matching his description, to contact them on 101 quoting incident number 338 of 2 March.

Det Quilty added: “I’d also like to appeal directly to Carl himself to make contact with us and let us know that he is safe and well.”
