Stoke City midfielder Charlie Adam has suggested West Brom manager Tony Pulis leaked the news of Saido Berahino’s failed drug test.
New signing Berahino’s eight-week ban came to light last week, on the eve of the striker’s return to Albion with Stoke.
The 23-year-old had not played for Albion since September and was subjected to a hostile reception when he appeared as a substitute in the Potters’ 1-0 defeat on Saturday.
Speaking on BBC Radio Five Live, Adam voiced his opinion on the matter and suggested the publicity was just a bid to affect the game.
“We know where it’s been leaked. It’s been hidden for a number of months then we play them the day before and it gets leaked,” he said.
“It’s only come from one club, but it was no surprise because the club knew about it.
“As a club we are disappointed it’s come out because it should never come out and there’s only one man it’s probably come.”
