A woman was badly injured after an A500 smash left her trapped in her car in Stoke-on-Trent.
The 43-year-old is in a serious but stable condition after the accident beneath the A53 Etruria roundabout junction.
The incident happened at around 1.50pm yesterday (February 13).
It involved a blue lorry which struck the back of a Black Vauxhall Astra which also struck a flatbed lorry.
The owner of the Astra had to be cut out of her car by Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service.
She was taken to the Royal Stoke Hospital for treatment where she remains in a serious but stable condition.
The road was closed for four hours while officers from the Collision Investigation Unit conducted a detailed examination of the scene.
