Bonfire night 2016: What Staffordshire has to offer


Thousands are expected to turn out for this weekend’s Bonfire events on November 5.

Alton Towers – Fireworks Spectacular.

Join thousands at one of the UK’s most popular Bonfire night destinations!

The show takes place over two nights, November 5 and 6.

With a display that lasts over 20 minutes, it tells a unique story through the art of fireworks, an incredible soundtrack and captivating lasers that light up the night sky.

As well as the ‘fantastical’ display, guests are also encouraged to experience the rides in the dark, which are open until 9pm.

The show starts at 7pm, so make sure you’re there for 6:45pm for a good spot!

Trentham Gardens Firework Display.

Although tickets for this event have sold out, the display can still be seen from the shopping village and really isn’t an event to be missed in the area.

If you were lucky enough to book your ticket in time, you will be attending the event on Friday November 4, and you have a whole range of treats in store – Gates open at 5pm.

The display takes place in the stunning Italian Garden, starting at 7:30pm, with fireworks exploding spectacularly above the 1-mile long lake and a bonfire being lit at 6:30pm.

Most restaurants and cafés are open until late, so book a table to avoid disappointment and to avoid the queueing traffic on the way out!

Weston Park.

Home to one of the summers most famous festivals, this 1,000-acre venue will be transformed into firework spectacular show and bonfire bonanza on November 6.

The giant bonfire is lit at 5:50pm and guests are spoilt for entertainment with two firework displays starting at 6pm and 7:30pm.

Tickets cost £18 per car on the gate for a maximum of six people.

Tamworth “Firework Extravaganza”

If you have ever fancied the chance to visit Tamworth Castle after dark, now is the chance to snap up the opportunity!

The venue is hosting a fabulous firework display on November 5.

With the gates opening at 5:30pm, guests get to wander the castle grounds as the sun sets, with the climax of the night being a 20-minute firework display featuring pyrotechnics.

Adult tickets cost £7 and concession tickets cost £6 – BUT good news, the firework display is FREE!

Stafford Hockey Club

The annual fireworks display is taking place on Sunday November 6 at the club, located on Riverway, Stafford.

This fun-filled and colourful event is welcome to all, members and non-members of the club.

The fun starts at 6:30pm where guests are encouraged to indulge in the barbecue and bar serving both hot and cold drinks. A raffle will take place at some point throughout the night and the fireworks will not disappoint!

Adult tickets cost £5, under 16’s go free, tickets can be purchased in advanced from the clubhouse before or on the night, parking is free.
