Stoke City manager Mark Hughes has revealed Geoff Cameron is an injury doubt for Monday’s televised clash with Swansea at the bet365 Stadium.
Cameron picked up a knock in the final stages of last weekend’s victory at Hull, and the USA international is now in a race to get back into training in time for a game important to both sides’ seasons.
“We’re waiting on Geoff. He’s the one doubt. It was just a tangle of legs”, Hughes explained.
“It was in the last seconds of the game unfortunately and he just hyperextended his knee so he is a little bit sore.
“That’s going to have to settle down to allow him to play but we are hopeful that Saturday or Sunday latest we will have him back on the grass.
“He’s going to have a little bit of pain but if he is okay and can manage that pain then he should be okay to play but he’s definitely the main doubt at the moment.”
Meanwhile long-term absences Ibrahim Afellay and Stephen Ireland will miss out as will goalkeeper Jack Butland, whilst Phil Bardsley has been given time off following the death of his grandfather in a car accident on Tuesday morning.
