Today is World Compliment Day, which means you have 24 hours to say something nice to people – wherever you may live.

After 10 successful National Compliment Days in the Netherlands, organiser Hans Poortvliet decided to try and create a World Compliment Day, with the aim of becoming more comfortable cheering up our fellow human beings.
Mr Poortvliet said: “It’s non-commercial – it should be done with words, or actions, no presents. Looking someone in the eyes and saying ‘I really appreciate you.’”
