Port Vale boss Rob Page is confident of his team’s chances ahead of make or break Easter weekend.
The Valiants are in the mix for a playoff place with games coming thick and fast over the next few days.
Port Vale are away to in-form local rivals Shrewsbury Town on Good Friday and then host playoff rivals Barnsley at Vale Park in what has been dubbed a six pointer.
Page said: “We are three points off the playoffs and we have a fantastic weekend of football coming up.
“If we get maximum points, then we deserve to be in the playoffs.
“We are full of confidence after training we have put it behind us what happened on Saturday and we are going to put it right on Friday.
“These next two games are massive for us. If we can get maximum points then we give ourselves a real fighting chance.
“We are still three points off the playoffs and it is so tight at the top that I think that would be a big statement and a big ask to get maximum points.
“Shrewsbury away is going to be a great game, then Barnsley back at Vale Park and back to winning ways at home so it makes for an entertaining weekend of football. ”
Rob Page said about Port Vale’s supporters were let down in their last game when they were thumped by Burton Albion.
“We let the fans down, I was gutted for them last weekend because they turned up in their numbers and we have been asking for it all season.
“The day we do the deal on the tickets they have to suffer through a performance like that.
“Stay with us because it hasn’t always been the case our home record has been outstanding all season with only two defeats.
“We are very optimistic and positive about what the boys have achieved this season.”
