Gandeys “Your Circus Awakens” is returning to Newcastle-under-Lyme from March 11 to March 20.
Twenty-five ‘intergalactic’ acts will be performing – including ‘Equivokee’, the world’s smallest stuntman, Peanuts the Clown and a real life Ewok.
Other acts involved are The Germanisto Troupe, who will display their tremendous strength, and all the way from South America, The Torres Brothers.
Gandeys, which has been going for 100 years, is supporting the town’s very own The Philip Astley Project throughout March, to celebrate the life of the Newcastle-born man, who was known as the father of modern circus.
Astley created the first 42ft “circus ring” and his work was written about by both Charles Dickens and Jane Austin.
The Philip Astley Project is a committee who collectively bring their experience within education, historic studies, the arts, entertainment and politics together, to gain recognition of Philip Astley.
Drinks, food, popcorn, light up merchandise and face painting will also be on offer, making Gandeys Circus “the place to be for all the family”.
The circus will be held on the old Sainsbury’s site, ST5 2AF.
