Trentham Gardens businesses celebrate 2015 success

Business owners in the Trentham Gardens shopping village are celebrating a huge increase in turnover for 2015.

Latest figures from estate owners St Modwen show Trentham Gardens Estate experienced an increase of six per cent annual turnover last year.

Among the many businesses thriving at Trentham is Glazed Art, owned by Mark Nixon.

He said: “We certainly experienced growth in December, so coming to Trentham has proved very successful for my business.

“Now we have many regular customers, not just from Staffordshire but from all over the world.”

Totally Delicious Limited, who run the Italian Gardens Tearoom and Lakeside Café, have been shortlisted in “The Sentinel Business of the Year Award” category.

Popular leisure attraction

Managing director Dominic Bowers said: “The support we had at the start in 2009-2010, was the catalyst for me to grow my business.

“The Trentham Estate made it priority to support local independent businesses, and what better example than us.”

Trentham is one of the country’s top leisure destinations, attracting more than 3.2 million visitors per year.

During 2015, the restored Trentham Gardens continue to be increasingly popular, with almost 545,000 paid entry visits.

In 2014, The Trentham Estate won a Highly Commended Award for Excellence in Tourism, from VisitEngland.

The Trentham Estate is home to 62 independent businesses, cafés and restaurants.
