Newcastle Town manager Ivan Lodge is looking for an improved attacking performance ahead of Saturday’s game with Loughborough Dynamo.
The Castle are without a win in three games and Lodge said he believes there is a simple reason behind this.
He said: “We keep losing these games that we should be winning to be honest. It’s only because we aren’t working their keeper enough.”
Loughborough Dynamo, who are second bottom in the Evo-Stik Division One South, travel to the Lyme Valley Stadium having lost their last six away games, but Lodge isn’t taking anything for granted.
He said: “You look at the other side and they’re going to win at some stage and we have to make sure it’s not against us.
“You’ve still got to go out there and apply yourself properly and do the right things.”
Lodge admitted that the team’s main aim, going into the latter stages of the season, was to rediscover their goal scoring form.
He added: “Most of all is finding a goal scoring touch again. I keep reiterating – it was all about finishing and crossing.
“If you don’t do those things right it doesn’t matter what you do.”
With a fully fit squad to pick from, Lodge did not rule out the possibilities of a late play-off charge:
“You put a run together and you don’t know where you’re going to end up.”
