Stoke dart player Andy Boulton set for PDC World Championship debut

Andy Boulton is relishing his appearance at the PDC World Darts Championship after reaching Alexandra Palace through the PDPA Qualifier.

The Stoke-born darter told StaffsLive he has had to adjust his practising routine since joining the PDC in January with the standard of players at an all-time high.

Boulton, nick-named ‘X-Factor’ after his appearance in the show of the same name in 2012, now lives in Scotland.

He faces Per Laursen in the preliminary round, before a possible clash with current World Champion Gary Anderson.

And Stoke City fan Boulton has had an impressive final few months of the season, with an appearance at last month’s Grand Slam of Darts.

Listen (below) to our interview with Boulton as he prepares to open his account at the tournament.
