David Marshall pleads guilty to murder of Staffordshire University student Eni Mevish


A man has pleaded guilty to the murder of university student Eni Mevish in Stoke-on-Trent.

David Marshall, 68, of Birks Street, Stoke, pleaded guilty to one count of murder and one count of unlawful wounding via video link at Wolverhampton Crown Court.

The guilty pleas relate to the murder of 20-year-old Staffordshire University policing student Eni Mevish (pictured, below) and the wounding of Rizwan Bucari, who needed hospital treatment for a leg wound.

The incident happened on November 9 2014, on Cauldon Road in Shelton, Stoke-on-Trent.

Eni (pictured, below) was found close to the Spar Shop in the street with stab wounds and died later.

His Honour Judge Wait described the crime as “the gravest” the court heard.

Marshall will appear for sentencing on April 10, at Stafford Crown Court.
