Stoke Eazy Riders Potters have made two more signings as their speedway team for next year’s National League challenge continues to take shape.
Lee Payne, signing for his third season, and Scottish youngster Ryan MacDonald, will line up alongside club captain Jon Armstrong, and new recruits Danny Phillips and Ryan Terry-Daley.
Payne told StaffsLive he was very happy to be back at Loomer Road.
“It is difficult to imagine riding anywhere else in the National League.
“This will be my third season at Stoke and I aim to improve my average further.
“I am fit now my shoulder has been treated and I am ready to go again.”
MacDonald, 20, from Glasgow, will occupy one of the reserve positions in next year’s team.
He was delighted to accept a position in the Stoke team and vowed to do his best to justify his selection.
The trainee motor mechanic said he couldn’t wait to get started and he is ready to move on to the next rung of the speedway ladder
He added: “I rode for Scunthorpe last season, but they are not in the National League for 2015, so I am really happy to join some riders I know and others that are new to me at Stoke.
“This is a great opportunity and I intend to make the most of it.”
Team manager Malcolm Vasey said he expected the new team to be highly competitive and was delighted to capture the two youngsters.
He told StaffsLive: “We know exactly where we are going with a team that can only improve, such is their spirit and determination.
“I have rarely spoken to riders with more enthusiasm to do well and be so happy to come to Stoke.”
