Two lorries crash on A50, causing delays around Uttoxeter

A crash on the A50 involving two lorries caused widespread delays in Uttoxeter.

Police were called to the collision between the B5030 and the A50 westbound.

The incident happened around 6.50am on Friday, 10 October 2014, three miles from Uttoxeter.

Reports suggest that one of the lorries was carrying steel pipes and that these are blocking the road.

Staffordshire Police said emergency services are in attendance, as one person was seriously injured.

A Highways Agency spokesman said the delays were around 90 minutes westbound and 30 minutes eastbound.

Police have now opened the road.
