Set up in November 2013, the club has been a success with local youngsters.

It caters for 10-18 year-olds.
It is currently being run by local police officers and also ex-professional boxer, now Sergeant Gary Helsby.

To help gain more volunteers, the club, based at the library building in Church Road,  is hosting an open event on Friday 11th April at 6:30pm for people of all ages.

Whilst the event is going on, club members will be taking part in training sessions.

One of  the current volunteers, PCSO Louise Jones said: “The club has definitely been a success with the youth of the area, they certainly enjoy it. We’re now looking for more volunteers to help run the club. We would like to encourage anyone who is interested in getting involved, to come along on Friday and meet us.”
