Mark Hughes misses out on Manager of the Month award

Stoke City manager Mark Hughes has been beaten to the Premier League Manager of the Month award by table-topping Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers.

Hughes was nominated for the award after Stoke’s form throughout March, which included impressive wins over Aston Villa and title-chasing Arsenal, but it was Rodgers who collected the accolade after five wins in five games lifted Liverpool to the top of the Premier League.

The Player of the Month award was shared for only the fifth time as Steven Gerrard and Luis Suarez were recognised for their contributions to Liverpool’s title challenge after scoring 10 goals between them in March.
