Pancake fans have been going flippin mad in Stafford during the town’s annual pancake race.
Hundreds turned out in the Market Square to watch the 15th annual event take place.
This year only 11 teams took part in the race, compared to 18 last year, but the support and atmosphere was still amazing.
And Stafford Borough Council chiefs who organise the event say they were delighted with how the day “panned out”.
Each competitor had to flip the pancake at least twice before passing the pan to their team mate in a relay style fashion, teams were made up of four people.
Stafford Mayor Cllr Angela Loughran was “delighted” to be at the event.
She said: “I was worried about how many people would enter this year.”
After several heats of competitive pancake fun, four finalists were announced.
The four finalists were, Flip side, Go ape, Sainsbury’s and Operatics.
Go Ape just missed out on the trophy scooping second place.
The winners were Flipside, who will take home the famous frying pan award.
Flipside spoke to StaffsLive about how happy they were to finally win, after entering the race several times before.
They said: “This is the first time we won the race, and proves that a lot of hard work and practice pays off.”
La Creperie was there to serve up tasty treats to competitors and spectators.
