Man charged with causing death of Sandyford dad Shaun Hodgkinson


A Stoke-on-Trent man has been charged with causing death by careless driving after a father-of-two died in a road collision.

Shaun Hodgkinson aged 26, of Hollywall Lane, Sandyford, died in the early hours of Sunday, October 27, 2013.

He had been struck by a car as he crossed High Street, Sandyford.

Mohammed Irfan, 42,  of Rushton Road, will appear before magistrates in Newcastle-under-Lyme on March 31.

He is accused of causing death by careless or inconsiderate driving and using a motor vehicle or trailer where a tyre had less than 1mm tread.
