Lichfield racing driver Ant Whorton-Eales hopes to hit top gear when he returns to Renault Clio Cup Championship action.
Whorton-Eales, 19, of Footherley, who will be driving for Cheshire SV Racing team, hopes he can improve on his 2013 performances.
“Returning to SV Racing is something that excites me,” he said.
“To be with Danny Buxton, and the rest of the team once again is a great prospect.
“Their experience in the Clio Cup along with the knowledge and experience I have gained in the past two seasons and the team I have helping and advising me behind the scenes, will ensure I have the best opportunity to be in contention for the Championship.”
Whorton-Eales finished 11th in the Championship last year, despite a slow start to the season hindering his chances of a title push.
Some fine results later in the season saw him win at Rockingham Raceway and finish second at Croft. so
“As with every driver the ultimate goal this year is for me to win the championship and I will push myself towards achieving this in every way possible,” he added.
Whorton-Eales is part of the KX Racing Academy, which aims to mentor young drivers and is headed by British Touring car star Jason Plato.
