Stoke-on-Trent’s Potteries Shopping Centre starts Christmas celebrations

Hanley’s Potteries Shopping Centre is getting into the festive spirit.

The mall has opened Santa’s grotto as part of a number of events to celebrate Christmas.

Children can visit the grotto and have fun online with Santa’s Interactive Village, where they can write to Santa, download a report card and track Santa on his travels.

The intu Potteries centre will have extended opening hours for Christmas shoppers and people can park their car for £1.50 every Sunday all day and Monday after 4pm.

Marketing manager Sandrine Rutter, Marketing said: “We really have got Christmas wrapped up this year both online and in centre”.

Shopper Chelsea Frost, 19, of Leek Road said: “I love Christmas and all of the decorations in the Potteries Centre are being put up and there making sure shopping is extra special this year.”

Longton mother-of-two Lydia Jones, 32, said: “My children are four and seven and it makes shopping easy for us as a family, especially with the Santa’s grotto it makes things a lot of easier because if they don’t behave, then they don’t see Santa.”

Allison Hughes, 57, of Burslem, said: “I will definitely be bringing my grandchildren to see the Santa’s Grotto and even for us oldies it’s nice to see everything Christmassy and hearing the Christmas music.

“It puts you in a very good mood.”
