Staffordshire curry chef wins top award

Curry Chef of the Year

A Staffordshire chef has been crowned one of the nation’s curry kings.

Chef Bosharath Miah, who runs the Cloves Indian Restaurant on Ashbourne Road, Bottomhouse, was given a Curry Chef of the Year Award.

Mr Miah’s restaurant has been open for two years, but he has had more than 40 years’ experience in a kitchen working in Manchester, Birmingham and London.

He said: “Everybody says the food is very nice.”

Mr Miah was presented with his accolade at the Lancaster Hotel in London by Communities Secretary Eric Pickles MP.

His son Akram Miah manages the restaurant and said he was proud

He said: “Being on stage with my dad and seeing him so happy makes me feel happy.

“We’ve all got the award as a team because we all worked together.

“Customers have nominated us because they love the food so much, the quality, the presentation and everything about the curries.”
