Hednesford Town captain Darren Campion said he is relishing the task of taking on League One’s Crawley in the FA Cup.
There are 61 places between the two sides in their league places with Hednesford sitting top of the Skrill North while Crawley Town are 13th in League One.
Saturday, November 9, will see a battle at Keys Park as both sides vie for FA Cup first round victory.
Speaking exclusively to StaffsLive, skipper Campion said: “It is a massive tie for the club we are not too fazed by it.
“We will go into the competition full of confidence.
“There are a few lads in our team who are ex -pros, so we have a bit of class.
“We are not fazed by anyone.
“We are not too disappointed about not being on TV, we will get on with it.
“We have extended highlights on ITV so that is always a bonus.”
He said spirits are high in the Hednesford dressing room ahead of their tie as they fight on two fronts – beating Crawley and promotion to the Skrill premier.
Campion added: “We have good banter.
“There are a few pranksters among us. It is always fun in our dressing room.”
Rob Smith has been manager of the Pitmen since 2011 and said he wants to be the man who masterminds another FA Cup run for the team.
He said: “I think you can see from training that the lads can’t wait really.
“There has been a lot of talk ahead of the game and now they just want to get on with it.
“Personally, I think being at home it will be a massive advantage to us.
“They are a full time side in League One, but on our day we can beat anyone.”
