A memorial event is taking place in memory of two school friends to raise money for the Breath of Life Charity.

Sam Baker, 18, of Handford, died in a car crash after driving home from his girlfriend’s house, while Aaron Hall, from Blurton, died after battling with cystic fibrosis.

Friend and memorial event organiser Dale Cooper, 21, said: “We’ve held memorials for Sam already, one celebrating his 21st birthday in January, they are always brilliant nights.

“It’s been really hard losing two close school friends so young but it’s nice to come together to remember them.

“Before we have sold wristbands but this year we will ask for just a donation on the door to our chosen charity.”

Breath of Life is a charity which helps people in North Staffordshire who have breathing problems or lung disease.

Former Trentham High pupil Megan Woodley, 20, said: “Sam and Aaron were both good friends of mine and it’s so nice for us all to reunite.”

A Manchester United signed pennant has already been donated to the raffle.

The event will take place on Friday at 7pm on February 22 at Power league, Trentham Lakes.

Previous events have raised money for the Donna Louise Trust, the Douglas Macmillan Hospice and the CF at UHNS which campaigns for  a dedicated CF unit at the North Staffordshire Hospital.
