By Amy Stubbs: Three workmen in Stoke-on-Trent have escaped serious injury after the roof they were working on collapsed beneath them.

Paramedics were called to the site near Fenton Manor Swimming Pool just before 9am this morning (November 11).

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Ambulance crews were called to a demolition site in Fenton Manor after the roof appeared to have been blown off the building.

“A man in his forties sustained chest injuries. A colleague, thought to be in his thirties, received arm and lower back injuries and crews also treated a man in his thirties for an ankle injury.”

All three have been taken to University Hospital North Staffordshire for further treatment.
