i think that the bedroom tax thing has been poorly thought through there are not enough one bedroom homes for anyone to downsize to i agree that one person should not live in a 3 bed house i dont want to live on my own here i had the house for my family now they have all left home i think another family should have the chance of a 3 bed social house but the question remains where do i go ???? for every one bed on u choose there are about 30 others on average applying this is why i think bt is unfair i am on homeswop and even have my own swop on fb but really who is going to need to move from a one bed to a 3 ??? so yes i think the council should take up the short fall with bt till this problem is sorted out u cant expect us to move when there is no where for us to move to

Wow what a disappointment 15mil for this?

I catch the number 1 and 2 bus from Hanley and thats outside in the elements like the old bus station, i think someone somewhere is making a lot of money, i spent that long waiting on a bus to get in the station, then it goes all over the city centre.

What a let down, a jewel? must be joking

Joy Garner and Tony Walley have truly embarrassed themselves with these misinformed quotes. Well over 1500 people will know that there were more than a few hundred of us there. Maybe there were a few ‘ex-lab-councilllors & wannabes’ there, although I’ve no idea what the wannabes want to be. There were also a variety of people from children to pensioners, workers and students, working class, middle class.

Oh yes we all are for regenerating the city and bringing in new jobs, but please will someone explain to me how building a £40 million (minimum) unnecessary civic centre will accomplish this?

Cllr Pervez “Central Business District have gone through the democratic process” dont think anyone has any problem with plans for a Central Business District, Cllr Pervez I dont think your really listening are you.

What people object to are the 10 yes just TEN Councillors on your Cabinet agreeing to borrow £55million for a NEW Civic Centre.

As for the recent consultation by Genr8 http://www.planning.stoke.gov.uk/Documents/22987_65.pdf

the split of Comments was 28% Positive and 72% Negative so no mandate there for your £55million debt on this City

It is supposed to be a free country, yet people can not state their feelings based on common sense, while wasteful ideas like this can be proposed. The future of residents of stoke depends on this major waste of money in times of cutbacks being stopped now.

I asked a local school to display a poster and was told that they would love to but had better not because they would get in to trouble. The council have known about the anger this move is causing for some time yet they still chose to ignore the people they are supposed to work for. Hopefully if enough people turn up and there is enough media coverage these arrogant people in power will have to take notice. You only have to see how many empty buildings there already are in Stoke to realise that just because the council is based somewhere it does not automatically become a thriving area and if people wanted to be based in Hanley there are already enough empty buildings there too, really no need to waste money on more buildings that will sit empty and look ugly.
