Firefighters have condemned the “irresponsible actions” of people who pushed fireworks through the letterbox of a house in Stafford.

They were called to the property on Mynors Street on Monday evening (October 31) after the incident caused minor damage to the kitchen when fireworks caused a pack of toilet rolls to catch fire.

A woman has died after a car and a lorry collided on a busy Stoke-on-Trent road.
The victim, who was driving the car, suffered serious injuries in the accident on Shelton New Road.
Paramedics tried to revive her at the scene after she went into traumatic cardiac arrest, but she was confirmed dead.
