Stoke City Council faces £1million-a-year bill for 29 empty buildings
Stoke-on-Trent City Council could face a £1 million-a-year bill if they do not manage to sell buildings they no longer want to use.
The council is trying to sell 29 office buildings, which include the Civic Centre and Kingsway Hall, to help pay for their move to the new Central Business District in Hanley.
Opening date announced for Stoke-on-Trent bus station
The date for the opening of Hanley’s new bus station has finally been revealed.
Stoke-on-Trent City Council has said the station will be open for passengers on March 26, with the first journey likely to operate at 5am.

A woman’s body was found in a street in Staffordshire on New Year’s Eve.
Officers were called to Hazelslade, in Cannock, at about 4.10am following the discovery.
Stoke City defender goes home to light up Fenton for Christmas
Stoke City defender Ryan Shotton returned to his home town to switch on the Christmas lights in Fenton.
The event saw market stalls, fairground rides and local schools come together to celebrate the event – despite it not being funded by Stoke-on-Trent City Council.
