Stoke Potters fell to a convincing 61-31 defeat against the Isle of Wight Islanders at the Smallbrook Stadium.
The Potters won only three races at the meeting, with the National League favourites comfortably romping to a 30-point win.
Kyle Hughes was Stoke’s top rider, winning two races, with Lee Smart claiming the other.
Adam Ellis and Jake Anderson were the top performers for the Isle of Wight.
The result continues the Potters’ poor start to the season, having yet to record a win in four outings.
The return fixture in Stoke this Saturday (May 4) will decide who claims the Wightlink Shield for 2013.
