Stafford’s fundraising Santa Dash to return for a second year
Hundreds of Santas are set to run through Stafford this Christmas to raise money for charity.
The fancy dress race in aid of the Katharine House Hospice and the Hibbs Lupus Trust was first run last year with more than 300 runners taking part.
Councillor Mike Smith said: “This will definitely get some of those Santas in shape for the big day with a couple of laps around the town centre.
“And I hope there will be loads of people out to cheer them on along the way before our Santas get down to the hard work of delivering presents.”
Children can also enter with the Stafford Town Centre Partnership kitting out all competitors in traditional Father Christmas costumes.
The race starts at 12.30pm on November 25, with suit collection and registration between 11am and 12 noon. Entry in advance is £10 for adults and £7 for children between six and 12 years old, with a £3 fee for youngsters under six. Signing up on the day will cost an extra £1.
To download an entry form, visit www.staffordbc.gov.uk/santadash or collect one from the Civic Centre or the town’s Gatehouse Theatre.
