By StaffsLive Reporter: Port Vale were able to put their off the field woes behind them with a resounding 3-0 win against Barnet.

The uncertainty over the future ownership of the club did not provide the perfect backdrop to the season opener at Vale Park, but the Valiants were able to sting the Bees for all three points.

Louis Dodds got the new term off to a flyer with a volley eight minutes in before Jennison Myrie-Williams doubled the advantage from the penalty spot 12 minutes later.

And the result was wrapped up 15 minutes from time when Tom Pope stroked the ball home.
