Police investigating cause of Shelton explosion
By StaffsLive Reporter: Police are investigating the cause of an explosion in Shelton.
Officers were called to an incident at Argyle Street shortly before 3pm today (May 22).
Two people were treated for minor injuries at the scene, with neighbouring homes evacuated as a precaution.
Detective Inspector Steve Morrey, of Staffordshire Police, said: “This type of incident is very rare and due to the nature and scale of the incident, detectives are currently investigating circumstances leading to the explosion.
“Early indications suggest two people suffered minor injuries and I would ask anyone with information on the incident to contact Staffordshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 415 of today’s date.”
