Dementia experts to see new carer training system at Staffordshire University
By StaffsLive Reporter: A new online support system for carers of dementia patients is set to be unveiled at Staffordshire University.
Experts from across Europe will visit the Stafford campus on May 25 to learn more about the new educational tool.
The STARS system aims to improve the support and training on offer for carers.
Professor Paul Kingston, Director of Staffordshire University’s Centre for Ageing and Mental Health, explained: “In the medium to long term, STAR will help us to address the quality of education for trained carers.
“It’s fitting that our workshop will be happening during national Dementia Awareness Week as it highlights the work that is happening at a European level to tackle gaps in specialist care.”
