Horse dies after being attacked in Stoke-on-Trent

Suzanne Jordan: A horse has died and another injured after being attacked in Stoke-on-Trent.

The incident happened at a field in Goldenhill, Tunstall, off Gill Bank Road during the afternoon of May 2.

The horses, which belong to Woodstock Stable Trust, were attacked between 12noon and 3.30pm.

One of the animals had its ear cut and its injuries were so severe it had to be put down.

The other horse is believed to be in a stable condition, despite having two cuts to its throat. It has now been moved to another location.

Police are appealing for information about the incident and would like to speak to anyone who may have seen people in the area at the time.
